You - Mad Tea Party by Kim Price

Hello all! I'm so happy to be dropping by today to share my first layout using the brand new Mad Tea Party collection by Marion Smith Designs. This collection is nothing short of stunning - the colours and style just make me happy to be creating with it.

This page started out as a plain 12"x12" chipboard sheet which I roughly painted with gesso to seal and create a base with which to add my color. I then painted a layer of Distress Paint in Victorian Velvet which coordinates so well with the Mad Tea Party collection, spreading the color with a large paintbrush not quite to the edges for a shabby worn look. After this had dried I spread a little texture paste to the middle of the layout to break up that large color block and then began to add my paper layers.

Here is a closer look at some of the detail. Don't you just love those adorale fussy cut mushrooms! I've taken them from the Wonderland and Cut & Create Ephemera patterned papers.
