Junque Gypsy Altered Art

Do you love altered art? I know I do. I couldn't wait to busy cut some pieces up and create this beauty.

First though I wanted to play with my Color Lab and add some pop of color. I combined some Yellow, Cyan, and Aqua Sparkle to get these dark blue green color.  I mixed it with a  little water and some Glazing medium.

I used just glazing medium alone with the Real Teal for the inside parts of this tray.

I cut paper to fit the inside of this tiny tray.

Then I added my fussy cut pieces.

Some petaloo flowers I had got squished in corners as they are so cute and tiny.

I also used a small talk sticker mounted on black paper for some words of thought.

I used tiny pieces of chipboard to mount everything to give some dimension.

This project was fun and a great thing to dress up a wall in any room.

Items Used:
Color Lab - Cyan, Yellow, Sparkle Aqua

Thanks so much for stopping by today.

Fitness and Food Tracking in My Planner

I recently made the commitment to create a healthier lifestyle for myself.  Using the monthly and daily layouts in my heart of gold planner are the perfect way to track my workouts as well as my daily food intake.  I'm doing the Insanity workout program, so I used the monthly layout to track which workouts I needed to do each day.  I made a key in the notes section on the left side and stamped color coded circles for each day that I was doing a workout.

I am using the daily sheets to track a variety of things.  In the largest box, I stamped 8 circles to check off how many glasses of water I'm drinking a day.  It's also a great place for inspirational quotes.  In the box to the left of that, I wrote of what my workout was for the day and other notes.

In the Morning, Afternoon and Evening boxes, I am keeping track of what I eat during the day.  I find that I'm more conscious of what I'm putting in my body if I have to write everything down.

In the bottom right box, I'll be making notes about my progress or how I felt that day.

Maybe keeping tracking of your daily exercise and food intake in your planner will help you on your road to a healthier lifestyle!

Florence from the Planner Team

Happy weekend everyone!!
I am currently in the middle of the biggest move and making time for myself, crafting, my personal life, fitness, and packing is quite overwhelming. I use planning as a stress reliever outlet. When I sit down and get into my mode it's totally relaxing and everything just seems to come together easily.
Sometimes my style is very detailed with a side of scrappy. I try my best to utilize my stash. I am more of a sticker person versus stamp, but next time I'll try my best to incorporate stamps in my decor :) let's try and step out of our bubble sometime this new month and try something different shall we? I hope you have a fun and safe 4th of July it's one of my favorite holidays. Who doesn't like great company, good eats, and fireworks?

Until next time,
Florence Antonette

A Junque Gypsy layout with Sandi Clarkson

Hello there, Marion Smith fans! I'm back today with my second post for the month featuring the oh-so-gorgeous Junque Gypsy collection in the 12x12 version with a subtitle tag from the 6x6 version. I've always loved anything that's a little Boho Chic, so when I stumbled upon this fab vintage photo, I couldn't wait to scrap it! I may have to even use it a couple of more times to satisfy the inner "Gypsy" in me!

I love that paper tearing has become popular again because it gives an instant distressed look. I used a bit of super heavy gesso, a stencil and some mist to give my base paper some depth and texture. Then I framed the photo with a chipboard piece, some florals and a gorgeous Junque and Gems Aqua Button. When I sacrifice those babies, you know the layout is very special to me! It is super sparkly IRL. Amongst my floral cluster are some Time Keeper paper flowers and a piece of black netting from an old produce sack.

Here are some close-ups for you:

I hope you're having a creative week!
Thanks for coming by!

Sandi

Araceli from the Creative Planner Team

Hello! This is my first time posting on Marion's Blog. My name is Araceli Espindola. I am also known as Ara on Instagram. I have been using planners since the 90's. Today I am here to show you what I use the heart of Gold Planner. I use the weekly inserts for all things home related. What I love about these inserts is that there is so much room to decorate and jot things down. My handwriting is pretty big (you probably can't tell in this pic, but trust me it is,lol). I also love that the inserts have a shabby chic feel to them (gotta love that).

Here is a closer look at the left side of week 26. I used the Marion Smith Designs Planner Stamps which can be purchased here.

I love that this planner not only has pockets in the front but also in the back. I like to add pretty things to my front pockets.

On the next blog post I will be showing you how I use the Daily inserts. Until Next time.

Theresa from the Creative Planner Team

Happy Saturday!   My name is Theresa Doan.  Some of you may know me as @mydocumentedlife on Instagram.   For as long as I can remember, I've always used some type of a paper planner, keeping it simple and just jotting important dates down.  It wasn't until this year that I started creative planning.  But as a mother of 3, I may not always have the time to do as much decorating in my planner as I would love.   One of my favorite things about all of Marion's planner pages is that they are so beautifully designed.  There's already so much color and a gorgeous floral print, that even when I need to keep it simple, my pages look so pretty!

I love the pastel colors on the weekly pages.  The non dated pages allow you to setup the week however it may work for you.  Although most people use Monday through Sunday, but this gives you the freedom to use any format.

I used Marion's silver date seals to mark each new appointment or tasks and used a few cute panda stickers.

On my next blog post, I'll be sharing how I use the daily pages as an exercise and meal tracker!

Memories Envelope with Yasmin Tölche

Hello everyone! It's Yasmin here at the Marion Smith Designs blog today! And what a day it has been, I've been out doing newborn photography! It was really nice, and that's why I'm a bit late today.. :)

I made a vintage project today with the MSD "Junque Gypsey" line.. Those papers are utterly gorgeous!

This time I've made an envelope to save your memories in. I'm thinking old tickets, pictures.. whatever  you'd like in it.

I've decorated with loads of flowers and I've fuzzy cut loads of stuff from the beautiful papers. You get so much for free in the papers. I've also used a stencil with modeling paste and I've added some of the gold paint on my flowers and paper egdes.

Hope you liked my Memory envelope and would love to hear what you think! :) Have a creative day :)

Lindsay from the Creative Planner Team

Hi everyone! I am so excited to be writing my first blog post for marionsmithdesigns. My name is Lindsay O'Neill, and you may already know me as @lindsayplans on Instagram.

I officially joined the planner world in January 2015, but I have been using agendas since I can remember.
Everyday I am blown away by the wonderful people in this "planner community" on social media. I have been able to meet so many new and amazing friends, and I can't wait to show you this beautiful planner from Marion!
So when my planner arrived, it was packaged in this beautiful gold paper. Marion also included some fun date seal stickers and this adorable "donut forget" notepad.

As you can see, the inside of the planner has a white and gold foil heart pattern. This is something very unique to Marion's planners, as I have never seen this dual pattern before. The mint colour looks amazing with the white and gold foil. There are many pockets and pouches to hold your planner essentials. This is something else that is very important to me when deciding on a planner. There are 4 pockets in the front, and 2 more in the back,

There is also a pen loop, which makes planning on the go much easier!

One of my favourite things about this pretty planner is the creative spin Marion puts on her inserts. Instead of having all of the "typical" inserts, she has also included fun, planner-addict related inserts including a pen swatch and a washi tape swatch insert. I have yet to use the pen swatch insert, but here is how I used the washi tape insert! I will definitely need to get some more. This is a great way to keep track of which stores have your favourite washi.

The daily inserts have so much room on them, with a beautiful floral background, and I personally love how the writing spaces are in different blocks. This allows me to use different sections for different things. I used the large blank space to document notes I took while speaking to my cell phone company (as you can see, it was not a successful call!) and I used the small lined section to document my food for the day.

This planner is truly amazing, made with high quality products, and a lot of creativity. Marion makes the perfect planner-addict planner, and I am so excited to be a part of her creative team! The photos I have linked are from my instagram account, and I frequently post photos of my Marion Smith Designs planner. On my next post, I will be showing you how I use the weekly inserts to plan "my week in lists".
Thanks for reading!
XO, Lindsay

Romance Novel Ch2 and more with Sandi Clarkson

Hello, everyone! Sandi here with you today featuring a layout this time created with a mix of Marion Smith collections: Romance Novel Ch. 2, Timekeeper and Garment District.

I've use a sheet of Timekeeper Marchant as my base and layered on the gorgeous Romance Novel Ch. 2 For Keeps. Before adding my additional layers, I prepared my background with clear gesso, super heavy gesso and mists. Then I had fun adding tons of layers using Romance Novel Ch. 2's Forever along with Garment District's Alterations tags and more of the Timekeeper Marchant. I've also used Marion's Pink Jasmine paper flowers.

Here are some close-ups:
