Celebrate the NEW YEAR

I love a Brand New Year!!!   I love the holidays, but unlike most who love Christmas - - I think my very favorite is to start a brand new YEAR!!  Maybe it is the new clean slate, new calendar pages, new Journal, fresh start, resolutions-- not sure why, but it is always a fun time for me.  I think of Time as such an important gift to each of us, so this project to be posted on New Years Eve is all about Time.  It's time to Celebrate!
I used the clock elements from this collection to create these layers.   The base of this card is ivory card stock and next is a layer of blue diamond from the Mad Tea Party collection.  I added the layers with foam squares to lift the shapes and added a little Stickles Glitter to create pretty shine!

Using Coredinations Cardstock, I made a textured background for my card.  It was pushed thru my Cuttlebug and sanded to bring out the clocks.  This background is layered on top of the Mad Tea Party diamond paper.  The edges of the sanded card stock is torn and makes a darker edge along the right side of this card.

Here's a closeup of all the elements.  I cut out lots of clocks from the Mad Tea Party papers and used stickers for the word Time.  The 2 is a chipboard number and I stamped the Celebrate with Marion's Alphabet stamps.   You will also see I added some jute string for fun texture.

Hope you all enjoy a very blessed New Year and Celebrate every single Minute of 2014!!

Maxi album by Ana Paula

This is a maxi album that I have been taught here in Brazil.

It is a different project:
A cover in a   12" x12" size made in a MDF  Display  and cardboard.

The innerof the album  contains various pockets,
envelopes ,  mini albuns and too much space to add photos from a special trip.

The title is Life´s Journey
and the papers from Nirvana Collection  by Marion Smith designs
were perfect for this vintage look.

I used almost the entire collection on this album and the students loved it.

Mixed Media Card "Remember This" Nirvana

Happy Sunday morning to everyone!!
It's Peggy Lee and I am here to share with you my
Mixed Media Card
"Remember This" Nirvana
Card Base 5 x 6 1/2
Using different layers of Nirvana paper collection...
nestling each layer inside of the other...
Distressed the edges and adhered together.
Using gesso/plaster with a stencil gave the background some texture...
along with splatters of mists!
I don't throw anything away I used the zip strip with
the paper collection name on it...and created into a banner!
I just love the vintage feel!!
Grabbing flowers from my stash built my own flower
and adding some wood veneers colored with mists..tucked in
here and there....
Loving the Layers!!
The simple words "Remember This" was part of  an embellishment
journal spots that I trimmed off and tucked in...
I thought it was perfect to sum up my 2013 that is coming to an end...for me
to look back and be thankful for being part of this amazing design team.
And this beautiful paper collection "Nirvana" designed by Marion.

Mad Tea Party Mixed Media and Pop Up Album

Hello to all you crafters out there, and I hope your Christmas was a magical one.  A New Year is upon us soon, and along with that brings another CHA!

I have been working on this album for a few months now.  I love creating interactive pop up albums, and especially love to incorporate a bit of mixed media along the way.  These things take a while!!!!

A while back I posted a sneak peek on Facebook...

And now I'd love to share a few pages of the album with you.  Each page is a double pop-up spread, featuring papers and elements from Marion's Mad Tea Party collection.  And of course, my lovely daughter!  My aim was to create a whimsical album, that would delight the reader and encourage them to touch.

The album will be winging it's way to the USA in a couple of days, in time for CHA!  So for those of you lucky enough to be attending, stop by Marion Smith Designs booth to explore this album first hand!  It's packed with techniques and products, I hope you'll like it!

Thanks for stopping by the blog today!

Let it snow...

Hello my dear friends
and happy Christmas Eve everybody!

It's Aneta here and I'm so honored to post this special post on this special day.
I made something special for today.

I think you agree, there is nothing more beautiful then
when it's snowing outside and people gathering around the Christmas table
 enjoying a perfect Christmas dinner.

That was the image I had in mind making this canvas.

I used:

and a lot of gesso for a more Christmassy look.

At the end I just want to wish you

The Blessings of Peace
The Beauty of Hope
The Spirit of Love
The Comfort of Faith
May these be your gifts this Christmas Season

xoxo

Ice Ice Baby

Well hello there! Ummm it's almost Christmas yikes! I love it but why does it have to come and go so quickly? I had this perfect plan in my noggin that I was going to have a cookie decorating party with the little ones in my family, buuuuut it didn't exactly happen sadly to say. Soooo onto what I like to call, Plan B. I utilize that quite often around the holidays. (Okay all year but whatever.)  I am now going to host a cookie decorating pahty in January, so we are going to go with a wintery-snowflakey-icy feel. I wanted to create little favor bags of course because what party is good without them?! I bought this really cute ice skate die and I have been making cards with them, but I thought why not just make one into a favor bag tag?! I thought Marion's gorgeous minty "Wonderland" paper would be oh so fitting, so I die cut that out with the ice skate die, dressed it up pretty and this is how it came out;

Looks fancy doesn't it? All it is is the ice skate slapped onto a white lunch bag with a doily and a clothes pin. Voila!

Grab your favorite snowflake stamp and heat emboss them with white powder on to the skate (which I am OBSESSED with white powder right now);

Wind a silvery pipe cleaner as the "lace,"

Throw on  a bow with a jingle bell, because what skate wouldn't be perfect without a bell?!

Super easy but still packs a fancy punch! I know if I was a youngin and received this, I would have been like wow someone loves me!  ;)

Imagine a beautiful party table all set up and these bags all clustered together, wouldn't that be gorgeous? All sparkly?! Woohoo!

Thank you so much for hangin out and I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas!

Love, Sarah xoxo

P.S. Here is the Wonderland paper;

Stocking Gift Card Holder by Tonya Gibbs

Hi everyone, just a few more days until Christmas, and time for me to start my wrapping.   Today, I  wanted to share with you a little gift card holder I made using Marion Smith's Nirvana and Mad Tea Party collection.

For the stocking I used the Bliss page from the Nirvana Collection.

Then I used the Tim Holtz Poinsettia die and cut the b-side of the Alice Paper to make the flower.  I have a tutorial on my YouTube channel that shows how to make the flower.

I used the Typograph stamp to personalize the gift tag.

The flower actually holds the flap down when the stocking is closed.

I love how elegant this gift card holder looks.  I think it would also be super cute for a baby shower.   The stocking shape is a cut file in the Silhouette store by Lori Whitlock

Thanks for stopping in today.  I hope you guys have a super awesome Christmas and a Happy New Year!
