Simple Card + Distress Glitter with Nirvana

Hello crafty friends,

I'm sharing a easy, simple card tutorial today. I had some fantastic distress ink on my desk and I had to use them. They started my inspiration for this card.

Here is the finished card. Marion's designs come pre-distressed so all that lovely distressing around the edge of the main image is pre-printed on the paper. How awesome is that?!

Step # 1 - Layers

My fundamental property in cardmaking and scrapbooking is layering. I always start with my background layer and build up from there.

Adhere your background layer. You can also build upon the bottom most layer so that the inside of yoru card remains clean if you happen to do any sewing or attach brads/staples, etc.

Next you want to continue adding layers. I used this distressed print from the Nirvana collection. It was so quick and easy to use since it came pre-distressed. I used pop dots on the back of the main image. This brings me to step two.

Step # 2 - Embellish

I had this great leftover from another project from the scarlet printables. I kept it around because I knew it would come in handy. I fussy cut around the printable and tucked it behind the main image. I made sure to only put adhesive behind the part of the floral embellishment that was tucked behind the main image. I place thinner pop dots behind the edges of the flowers to add some dimension.

Next I'm adding a bit of glue from my glue pen onto the darker parts of the flowers for my sparkle.

Step #3 - Bling it out!!

Add your sparkle. I used the gorgeous distress glitter in picked raspberry and mustard seed.

At first I was only going to add the glitter to the roses but I kept looking at the main image thinking it needed a bit of sprucing up so more glitter!!!

Here is the finished card. I add a bit of pink jute cording to tie things off. He he!!!

That distressing and Marion's designs made this so super easy. And look at how intricate it looks but how easy it was made. I just love it.
