Cotton Tail Layout - Tonya Gibbs

Today I wanted to share with you a layout that I created using Marion's Grand Mini Album and Life Planner downloads.

These are some of my favorite photos of my nieces.  We took them at Easter last year.  The bunny was such a sweet addition to the photo shoot, and Addie kissing the bunny was just the sweetest moment ever!

I really wanted the focus to be on the photographs for this layout.  So I tried to avoid too many embellishments and color.  Since their dresses had so much pink in them, I decided to avoid pinks in my paper choices.  If there is a dominate color in your photo, try to chose papers and embellishments that do not contain these colors.  It will help to send everything to the background and make your photo pop!

I placed the photos into the photo frames that are available in the Life Planner download. These frames alone make this kit worth having. I just love their odd shape. I used patterns from both collections to create my own washi tapes.  Then finished off the layout with lace to soften up the harsh lines of the journal pages, and embellishments.

Shabby Greeting Card With A Twist

Well hello there! Welcome to my first post with Marion Smith Designs woohoo! Today I want to share a card with you! I wanted to send something to someone special I haven't seen in a long time, so I wanted to create a card, but spice it up a little bit! I used papers from Marion Smith's printables, Scarlet, Folder Book Kit, & Life Journal Book that you can find here! Make sure you check them out, they are stunning!

Sometimes you like to stick pictures of your kids or pups or whoever in cards right?  For that reason I thought some pockets were much needed, so I created a pull-out accordion effect;

Now it has 3 pockets I can cram stuff into, like tags!

Marion's designs are so absolutely beautiful, all you really have to do is cut them out strategically, and the results are gorgeous! Like this postcard;

Just add a little tape at the top to make it look like it's "taped on" and you're all set! A perfect little cozy place to write your sentiments ;)

I used a few other stamps & embellishments I had handy, but other than that I mostly used printable papers from Marion's shop.There are so many beautiful elements in every line, it's so easy to mix & match!

I hope you enjoyed my first project and thank you so much for stopping by! Wasn't Aneta's card gorgeous?! I am so honored to be a part of such an amazing team!

Love, Sarah

Layout | Sugar & Spice using Life Journal Printables

There are moments when everything seems to go wrong. Your paper trimmer rips your last sliver of your favorite patterned paper. You favorite punch can't seem to align it self just when your about to make your focal point embellishment that you planned. You run out of adhesive just when you need it the most. It's happened to all of us. And it's frustrating...like really frustrating and it can really steal your mojo.

Today's layout started a bit like this. Everything I tried wasn't working. I figure out how to get everything to print at the correct size, then I started spilling things all over the place and knocking everything over and dropping everything I picked up.

I finally just walked away exasperated and it a bad mood. I broke out my Filofax and started journaling. Getting those emotions out on paper definitely helped bring me back to my calm place and this is the resulting layout.

Die cuts save the layout. Marion's printables always come with awesome cut apart embellishment sheets that I love and used to layer up this layout. Marion's printables were use on all of the background papers except the text pattern on the background.

Marion's printables always include the most awesome tags that I used behind the title, and the beautiful butterfly printed tag I used in the bottom right cluster. Also the beautifully distressed ruler that anchors the center display is also from the printables. I also used quite a few die cuts from Amy Tangerine and Maggie Holmes collections.

I love that all of Marion's designs can be used with each other and all the collections mix so well with each other. All of her designs are classic and can be used to mix seamlessly with so many other collections and brands.
