Nirvana Mixed Media Cards by Peggy Lee Baker

Hey everyone it's Peggy Lee here
sharing with you a couple of
Nirvana Mixed Media Cards!
The other day I had some free time and I decided to do some creative play...
and mix it up with Kraft card stock.
I used the Nirvana paper collections and stamps by Marion.

I grabbed a stencil and drywall tape with gesso to create background
texture. Stamping and splattered of glimmer mist makes my heart sing!!
My favorite part was getting to play with Marion's new Bloom Impressions Tool,
brown packing paper and a flower punch...I really love how the tool makes
the paper flowers cup to give great depth.

Here is a video by Marion Smith sharing with us how to use

Hello everyone...it's Peggy Lee here sharing with you all,
my mixed media card....every gal needs some creative play...
I used the "Never Grow Up" paper collections and stamps
The fun part of creative play...no rules...is that you can use up
scraps and bits & pieces that you have laying around your desk.
Like these gears I had cut from another projects,
that I inked up with Distress inks, gesso and a little stamping to give
more texture.
I was given these adorable Petaloo new burlap blossoms...oh my
so yummy to work with....I grabbed my Tattered Angels glimmer mist
adding two colors give some depth!
My favorite part of Marion's designs is the images you can cut out
and tuck into your projects...(which is a great way to stretch your papers).
I fussy cut out these tickets, distressed the edges...I also stamped on them
as well as splattered glimmer mist over them....
LOVE THIS GRUNGE LOOK!
Have you just sat down and grabbed a few paper supplies and just let lose?
It's very freeing to just have some creative play!
Go ahead and give it a try-grab some Marion Smith Designs papers, embellishments, stamps!

"Motley" Paper Bag Mini Album by Peggy Lee

Hello everyone on this rainy Sunday morning!!
It's Peggy Lee sharing with you all my
"Motley" Paper Bag Mini Album"
I just love this paper collection by Marion Smith!!
This would be a perfect gift for Mother's Day,
which is fast upon us soon.
While unpacking a few boxes I stumbled across a paper bag mini
album I had all sewn together and the edges inked...
I grabbed it and said this is perfect for Marion's papers!
I decided upon her Motley paper collection...love the vintage tones in this line.
Mini Tutorial
3-paper bags folded and sewn together
Inked the edges of the paper bags.
Picked out papers, cut 6x6 sizes, tore all the edges and inked.
Adhered to each page.
Inserts-Kraft card stock to fit the inside of paper bags (each bag size will be different)
punched tabs, added more torn papers and inked them all.
Then the fun begins Embellishing!!

Here are some of the inside pages to the paper bag mini!

With the inserts pages there is a ton of space
for adding photos!

I just love the cover...this is my favorite flower image that I fussy cut
out from one of the papers....great for a card front, mini album cover
and project life albums!!
The other day while out shopping I picked up some pink crochet string...
I sat down and started crocheting my own flower embellishment!!
It works fabulous with Marion's Junque & Gems
Thanks for stopping by today,

Hugs & Happy Mother's Day
to all...
Peggy Lee

LOVE THIS~EPIC GRUNGE HEART WITH WINGS

Hello everyone it's Peggy Lee coming to you today with a little mixed media altered "Heart with Wings" art piece! This summer my daughter Emilee and I were snapping silly photos...my daughter had on cool red lip stick...with a gold studded skull shirt (which she knows I can't stand) ha ha!!
I just love this one of her yelling OK mom I had enough-so perfect looks so steam punk rocker!
I started with a piece of cardboard traced a heart and wings....using gesso primed the cardboard piece then added some plaster with brick mask. Then grabbing my glimmer mists and inks started coloring heat setting in between colors. When dried added more texture with a thick layer of gesso with a dot fade stencil.
Using Nirvana and Mad Tea Party papers and stamping the doily from the Curious stamp set.
Added some splatters of glimmer mist and tearing holes in the heart shape paper..added some wire mesh to the back and inked edges with glimmer mist. Highlights with Gold Effects Paint and gesso lightly brushed  over raised areas.
Rolled roses from the paper collections...little gems and grunge up gear die cuts.

Lovely texture!!
Junque & Gems by Marion hanging from wire mesh and chains....adored with gems.
Embellishment shots are great for titles tucked around...along with a zip strip with label on the paper..I cut it off and saved it to tuck in around the photo to add a little pop!
There you have it my Mixed Media Altered  Heart with Wings!
Thanks for stopping by today,
Peggy Lee

Wall Art "Valentine Rose" & Tutorial

Good morning today I bring you some Valentine eye candy!!
I have started early creating my own wall art/home decor for our home.
Using the Mad Tea Party paper collection by Marion Smith....and embellishment page
to create my Valentine Rose wall art piece.
I love the shabby chic vintage feel and look...

The lovely embellishment pages from the Mad Tea Party
paper line works great for wall art, cards, scrapbook pages.

Wall Art Tutorial
Prime wood piece with gesso, add texture with your favorite mask/stencil.
Spray your favorite mist...I used glimmer mist!
Give it a white wash with gesso...that is your background to build upon.
Rip the edges of the paper you choose, along with tearing holes
in your paper to give old feel...distress the edges with ink.
I also used a wet paint brush to moist the edges to curl up...
Pick your favorite flowers and embellishments...I gesso the fake
flowers and glimmer mist the Petaloo white flowers...great way to get the color you want.
Wood Veneers are great to add to your project...colored
with glimmer mist..stamp on and cut apart to tuck into your project.
